Former Tory candidate in court

Andrew Ferryman Andrew Ferryman

A FORMER Conservative parliamentary candidate in Warrington has appeared in court in Skegness.

Andrew Ferryman, aged 44, now living in Retford, Nottinghamshire faces allegations of perverting the course of justice.

He lost to Helen Jones when he stood for the Warrington North seat in 2005.

The charge, read on October 9, alleges that Ferryman gave false details on a notice of intended prosecution and sent false e-mails to the police which resulted in the arrest of an innocent third party.

He is also charged with driving without insurance or a driving licence.

Andrew Ferryman stood down from Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea Town Council recently due to ill health.

He will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday, November 6.
