Store to host charity day
A GOLDEN Square store manager is hosting a charity day on Saturday in memory of her mum who lost her battle to cancer last year.
Jane Colbeck, aged 20, has organised a fun day at Warehouse in the shopping centre to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research UK after mum-of-three Susan Colbeck was diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer and died aged 52.
Jane, from Appleton, said: “This charity is very close to my heart.
“My mum was a wonderful person and I hope that the money raised will help the research into the long awaited cure to cancer but mainly if I give one lady some hope that we can beat the disease I will be happy.”
Jane, who is acting manager of the shop, has also asked her team to wear pink throughout the day and shoppers will be able to buy tickets for a raffle which includes prizes from a number of Golden Square stores.
