STAFF from a funeral service breathed new life into the neonatal ward at Warrington Hospital after donating cash from a fundraiser to buy vital equipment.

More than £1,700 was raised by Knox and Son Funeral Directors, Orford Road, which has been split between Ciaran’s Cause and will go towards machines that will help premature babies breathe on the neonatal ward.

Director and owner Liz Greenwood said: “I have five children and my colleague Rachel Aitken has three so both causes touched us and we feel it’s always important to promote new life.”

The pair were pictured with new mum Adele Welsh and her five week premature tot Eve Miller who weighed in at 3lbs 9ozs when she was born.
