UPDATE: Man dies after collision on the M6

A MAN has died after a collision involving a car and a lorry on the M6 between junction 19 and 20 of the M6.

The accident happened this morning, Sunday at 10.50am.

The 49-year-old man, from Liverpool, was driving a Ford Focus when it was in collision with the lorry.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to find the car on its roof.

Police closed the road for more than four hours after the accident.

The driver of the lorry was not injured, but is suffering from shock.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward and call them on 0845 458 0000.
