SOME recycling banks have been removed from a pub car park in Birchwood following complaints by residents.

The council has taken the decision to removed the card and recycling banks from the Nelson's Quarter Deck recycling site but kept the glass bottle and can banks.

Residents had complained about the noise caused by the machinery used to empty the banks.

A council spokesman said: "The decision was made following a full investigation by the council's recycling team and environmental health team.

"Residents can still use all the other card and plastic recycling banks at various locations in the area including community recycling centres at Woolston and Gatewarth."

i think it's pathetic that people are moaning about the noise, when recycling is helping the environment.
