MATT King has backed good friend Michael Monaghan to become a real force in Super League.
King has joked that he and his fellow Australian got on so well that they virtually became a couple after arriving in England in December.
And he believes Monaghan's performance at St Helens on Saturday proved that the scrum half is returning to form.
King said: "Mick and I really didn't know each other before.
"We'd met each other a couple of times in Australia but only for two seconds to say hello and goodbye.
"I don't live there any more but we lived in the same apartment block for the first four months over here.
"My girlfriend didn't come for the first 10 weeks so we were pretty much a couple, short of him trying to jump into bed with me!
"But he's been awesome and I think he showed on Saturday that he's turned the corner too.
"I don't think I'm out of line saying that Mick's been disappointed with his form but I think he's showed some a good signs that he can be a real force in this competition."
