Glazebrook WI

Glazebrook WI by Margaret Hornby OUR President, now returned from a long cruise, welcomed our speaker.

Not our usual entertainment, Fatma, (not her real name), was a belly dancer.

She dispelled any apprehension, explaining the cultural history of this art through the ages, its origins in various countries and her interesting involvement. Fatma gave us a short demonstration to music in her costume and enlisted a few members to dress in various attire of the middle east. Taken in good heart.

After tea, we discussed NFWI business. our diamond jubilee event, craft group, Mossland group trip and theatre visit to 'Sound of Music'. The NFWI AGM resolution regarding the shortage of midwives was addressed. A unanimous vote to support the motion at the Royal Albert Hall was passed for our delegate to take to the meeting.
