THE inter-club guest October meeting was held at the Village Hotel and eight guests were welcomed by our president John Hill. The meeting had a political theme: “What I would do, if I ran the country”.
Three members spoke on the ‘hot topics’ of the day, which I am sure we will hear more about with the May 2015 Election looming. Eric Jennings on ‘Law & Order’ Patricia Linton on the ‘NHS’ and Frank Riley on ‘Immigration’.
These presentations were informative, hard hitting and in parts controversial!
This was followed a ‘soap box style presentation by a guest on the irritations of sales calls to his home.
To complete the meeting we had two minute topics session on selected topic of the day.
Guests and new members are welcome to join us at the next meeting at the Village on November 13, or join us for our ‘Effective Speaking Course’ helping people for business or social occasions which are proving popular, in Great Sankey on Wednesday evenings.
