FIVE games, one gaudy orange box. That's the premise of this excellent and high value compilation by American game developer, Valve.
The majority of this set (Half Life 2 and Half Life 2: Episodes one and two) follow the exploits of Gordon Freeman following the Black Mesa incident of Half Life 1.
Although only three of the games (Half Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal) are actually new, this is an excellent chance to reacquaint yourself with one of the most diverse and intelligent first person shooter games series to date.
Beyond the Half Life experience, Portal is a unique, if short, game that uses teleports to solve intricate puzzles.
Meanwhile, Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer game that offers a twist to the classic style with its cartoon graphics.
Hours of gameplay for the price of one game. Sounds like the makings of a happy Christmas for any gamer...
