Debbie McGee showed off her wedding ring as she and the other Strictly Come Dancing finalists arrived for an event ahead of the show’s grand finale.

The broadcaster, 59, has previously explained that she does not wear her wedding ring – from her marriage to late magician Paul Daniels – while taking part in the show because it could be dangerous to herself and dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

However, with dancing off the menu for the day, McGee’s ring was back on her hand as she arrived at BBC Broadcasting House for a press conference just two days ahead of the Strictly final.

Last month, while brushing off rumours of a romance between herself and 27-year-old Pernice, McGee said of her absent wedding ring: “I’ve never ever worn jewellery at a rehearsal ever, especially doing these rehearsals.”

She told ITV’s This Morning: “If Giovanni grabs my hand and gets me, and I haven’t got big stones, but I could scratch him or pull a finger off.”

McGee was joined by Pernice at the press conference, as well as fellow finalists Alexandra Burke, Gemma Atkinson and Joe McFadden.

Burke was in good spirits as she flashed a smile upon her arrival, as was Atkinson, who braved the winter chill in a dress without a coat.

The dance partners of the finalists – Gorka Marquez, Katya Jones and Aljaz Skorjanec – were also seen arriving.
