FANS of The Inbetweeners will remember that at the end of each episode there was a different song.

It was usually a tune by an up-and-coming British indie band and it was always well picked to help sum up the tone of the show.

Most of the songs on Circa Waves' debut album Young Chasers are in that vein.

With their melodic guitars and anthemic choruses, it would be easy to imagine them as the credits roll on The Inbetweeners.

The Liverpool four-piece's music is full of youthful exuberance but with the kind of street cred to see them become regulars on radio playlists.

Young Chasers is also the kind of record that makes you want to fast forward to the summer.

It is easy to picture songs like 'T-Shirt Weather' blasting out from people's homes at barbecues in a few months' time.

You can also sense the influences in Circa Waves' work. In fact their sound probably equates to all the bands on the Xfm playlist being put into a blender.

It works in short bursts. You will find yourself singing along to infectious songs like Fossils despite yourself.

But the quartet have yet to fully find their feet because the album, as a whole, lacks variety.

The tempo is much the same on most of the tracks and sticking to the same (but admittedly winning) formula only works for so long. Ones to watch.
