WARRINGTON'S Starsailor has been unveiled as one of the main acts at Cotton Clouds Festival 2018.

Sister Sledge, the 70s pop royalty vocal group, are headlining the Saddleworth Cricket Club event in Lancashire and Toploader, Scarlet and Gareth Brooks are also among the top billed.

Cotton Clouds launched last year to a sell-out success and the organisers were nominated for ‘Best New Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards.

The one-day showcase on August 18 features an outdoor main stage and two indoor satellite stages.

Formed in 2000, Starsailor have racked up 10 top 40 hits including Alcoholic, Lullaby and Silence Is Easy.

After taking a break in 2009, the four-piece, featuring Warrington's Ben Byrne and James 'Stel' Stelfox, reformed in 2014 and last year released All This Life, their first album in eight years.

The festival also features the now renowned Tim Peaks Diner Stage, endorsed by The Charlatans’ frontman Tim Burgess.

Headlining that stage will be The Orielles. The third stage is called The Spinning Room and will topping the bill there is hip hop act The Allergies.
