FOUR months of shows from big name acts as part of the Warehouse Project will begin this weekend.

WHP17, based in a former air raid shelter under Piccadilly Station in Manchester, will feature one of the first UK shows by LCD Soundsystem since their reunion as well as legendary acts including the Chemical Brothers and Craig David.

New York dance rockers LCD, newly-reformed having briefly retired from music in 2011, will headline the opening weekend with two sell-out shows on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, Stockton Heath DJ Josh Butler features on the bill for Welcome to the Warehouse Part One on Friday night alongside the Martinez Brothers and Eats Everything.

A series of WHP events will then run each weekend until New Year’s Day.

Highlights from this year’s calendar include Annie Mac on October 6 and 7, Craig David on Saturday, November 4 and the Chemical Brothers on Saturday, December 9.

Hannah Wants plays the Store Street venue on Friday, September 29, before Jamie XX on Saturday, November 11, and Chase and Status on Friday, November 24.

Events will also be held at other venues across the city as part of WHP17, with the Albert Hall hosting Gorgon City on Saturday, November 4, and Thundercat on Wednesday, November 15.
