THE full line-up has been revealed for a new boutique festival in Liverpool.

Hope and Glory at St George’s Hall will be offering a weekend of live music for 12,500 revellers on August 5 and 6.

Manchester band James have been announced as the Saturday night headliner on the ‘Great Exhibition’ stage while the 70-piece orchestra Haçienda Classiçal will be closing the festival on Sunday.

On the second ‘Wonders of the Age’ stage, Warrington’s Starsailor top the bill on the Saturday while Birmingham’s The Twang will champion a day of new music on the Sunday.

Hope and Glory will be set behind St George’s Hall, in St John’s Gardens and William Brown Street where fans can enjoy the event while enjoying the Victorian backdrop of the World Museum and City Library in a specially created arena.

The festival organisers are also going for a surreal and subversive art style which has been described as Charles Darwin meets Tim Burton.

Other bands taking to the stage over the weekend include Razorlight, The Fratellis, Embrace, Badly Drawn Boy, Lucy Spraggan, Dave McCabe (The Zutons) with Ian Skelly (The Coral), Chris Helme (The Seahorses, The Ordinary Boys, Ocean Colour Scene, Lightning Seeds, Reverend and The Makers and Clean Cut Kid among many others.

Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez Tim Booth from James will also be special guests of Haçienda Classiçal on the Sunday.

That is not all because across the site there will be an abundance of entertainment including spoken word performances, magic shows, comedy, acoustic acts and mindboggling side-shows.

Charlotte Church will be in conversation with journalist Simon Price at the ‘Lady Garden’ stage which will also play host to all manner of weird and wonderful events.

Expect celebrity charity arm wrestling, The Victorian Acrobatic Team, The Liverpool International Air Guitar Competition, Harminder the Elephant, Dinosaur Baby in the Pram, Dance of the Lobsters and The Woman Who Grew Up Into A Tree.

Hope and Glory is at St George’s Hall in Liverpool on August 5 and 6.
