With heavy riffs and more hooks than a bout with Mike Tyson, Zoax have built quite a reputation since forming in 2013. But under the surface the London rockers have a lot more going on than that.
Frontman Adam Carroll said: “We have our rock influences, but jazz and soul are easily my favourite genres of music from listening to Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Sam Cooke at an early age. Feeding into that style, we also have different influences like Bonobo and NAS.
“They all create music full of passion and life. But rock music will never slip away. People will always be hungry for it.”
Zoax play at Sound Control in Manchester on Wednesday, December 14.
