Dan Whitehouse
For fans of: Boo Hewerdine, Julian Cope, Bob Dylan
WOLVERHAMPTON is Dan Whitehouse's home – he was born there and still lives in the West Midlands city.
But his desire to be a musician stemmed from his youth when his parents decided to go on the hippy trail for a 'peace and love' tour of Katmandu and San Francisco in the 1970s.
Dan's observational lyrics and the stories in his songs are soundtracked by an original take on modern folk and Americana.
Since then he has performed with some of his heroes like Mark Eitzel, Richard Thompson, Sun Kil Moon and Julian Cope as well as his acclaimed label mates like Eddi Reader and Lau's Kris Drever.
He has just released his first album, That's Where I Belong, for Reveal Records
Dan will be performing with Boo Hewerdine at The Yard in Alderley Edge on October 2.
