The Oh Hellos
For fans of: The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, The Pierces
THE Oh Hellos began in a cluttered bedroom, where brother and sister Maggie and Tyler Heath recorded their self-titled EP in 2011.
A year later the Texas duo kept that DIY spirit when they wrote, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered their first album, Through the Deep, Dark Valley, all themselves.
So it must have felt strange when they shared their songs with an ensemble of touring musicians the size of a circus when the time came to take the music on stage.
Since then The Oh Hellos have continued to defy conventions with their influences ranging from Fleet Foxes to the Muppets, bending and blending styles into a unique mix folk rock.
- The Oh Hellos are at the Deaf Institute in Manchester on August 16
