Conquer Rio

Conquer Rio played their first gig at Birchwood High but since then they have shared a stage with Scouting For Girls and performed at the Grand Final at Old Trafford.
The five-piece have been together five years and were recently featured on Kerrang Radio. They will be recording new songs at Magic Garden Studios Wolverhampton later this year.
The Roughneck Riot
Genre: Folk punk
For fans of: The Levellers, Bad Religion, The Clash
On stage: 10pm
The Roughneck Riot are often described as one of Warrington's best musical exports as the well-travelled band regularly tour all over Europe.
The six-piece band are also well known for their high energy live shows complete with banjo, mandolin and accordion.
And despite being in their 20s, the Roughneck Riot has been going for 11 years.
Midnight Suns
Genre: Blues rock
For fans of: The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
On stage: 9.30pm
Midnight Suns are one of Warrington's newest bands but they have already been supported by BBC Introducing and Radio XS.
The quartet were inspired to see where their music – blues mixed with 70s psychedelia – could take them after a battle of the bands at Chevy’s bar.
Psyblings
Genre: Psychedelic rock
For fans of: Fidlar, Ty Segall, Tame Impala
On stage: 9pm
Psyblings were friends with Viola Beach and the quintet recently performed at the tribute celebration to the band at the Parr Hall.
Fronted by Greg Dixon, who is also in the Warrington band The God Complex, Psyblings mix psychedelic rock influences with heavy riffs.
Portalights
Genre: Alternative indie
For fans of: Kings Of Leon, Radiohead, The 1975
On stage: 8.30pm
Portalights recorded their first EP, Zooplace, at Whitlab Records in Preston.
Since then they have supported Gabrielle Aplin at The Ritz in Manchester and jetted off to Los Angeles to record videos for 'Like A Creep' and 'Tinman'.
Portalights were also named ‘Ones To Watch’ at a high profile event at Liverpool Academy in 2014, supported by RCA records and SJM Concerts. Their next EP, Lets Go Wild, is out soon.
Priestley
Genre: Folk pop
For fans of: The Lumineers, Kodaline, Mumford and Sons
On stage: 8pm
Priestley have mostly been locked away in the studio until now but the band will be taking on the festival scene this year, starting in Warrington.
The folk pop group, led by songwriting duo Matt Morley and Sam Allen, are named after Priestley College where they met.
When Matt and Sam are not making music they also work on TV and film sets and have appeared in the likes of War Horse and Mortdecai.
Voodoo Blood
Genre: Blues rock
For fans of: Led Zeppelin, Blues Pills, Band of Skulls
On stage: 7.30pm
Voodoo Blood is Stockton Heath singer-songwriter Kim Jennett's latest band.
They formed in October 2015 and are already working on their debut EP which is due out in the summer.
Combining classic blues music with big riffs, the four-piece have already played at a number of prestigious venues including London's Royal Albert Hall.
Love For Zero
Genre: Alternative indie
For fans of: The Killers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Crystal Castles
On stage: 7pm
Love For Zero's eclectic music is probably due to the band's diverse members.
Drummer Oli Cox is from Warrington, singer Chris Niebel and guitarist Andy Dainton are from Manchester, bassist Angelos Gavriilidis is from Greece and James Davis, on keys and synth, is from Ireland.
They combine indie with dance and dub music and have already caught the ear of The Kooks, The Twang and Example who they toured with in 2012.
Love For Zero also played at a number of major festivals in 2014 including Latitude and Kendal Calling.
The Jackobins
Genre: Alternative rock
For fans of: Kasabian, The Killers, U2
On stage: 6.30pm
The Jackobins are currently building on the success of last year when they toured with the likes of The Enemy, The Rifles and Warrington Music Festival's Sunday headliners Reverend and the Makers.
In fact, the six-piece did more than 75 gigs across the UK in 2015 and they are showing no signs of slowing down this year with their last single, One More Chance, playlisted by BBC Introducing Merseyside, BBC Radio 6 and Radio X.
The Tamalas
Genre: Indie
For fans of: Kings Of Leon, Coldplay, Starsailor
On stage: 6pm
Warrington Music Festival will be The Tamalas' first live show in five years so make sure you catch it.
The indie four-piece were actually due to play at the 2013 festival but their drums were stolen so they had to pull out.
Founding members Matthew Everson and Jonathan Lord met at Woolston High School at 20 years and got back in touch shortly before forming the band in 2008.
Since then they have supported Everything Everything, Delphic and James Walsh.
Grand Illusion
Genre: Psychedelic space blues
For fans of: Spiritualized, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream
Formed from the ashes of The Phoenix Experiment, The 66, Zen Cohen and Antelopes, Grand Illusion have a long history in Warrington.
The three-piece's performance at Warrington Music Festival also coincides with their debut release, Shake Shake.
Singer Mike Bee said: "I've had the pleasure of playing every Warrington Music festival so far and it holds a lot of great memories for all of us.
"We're buzzing to be making our new band debut in our hometown and catching up with old friends and new."
Danxia
Genre: Shoegaze
For fans of: Slowdive, Tame Impala, Beach House
On stage: 5pm
New to the music scene, Danxia – named after the landscapes found in south east, south west and north west China – are currently working on their debut EP in between live gigs.
Their music is an atmospheric mix of shoegaze and dream-pop.
The four-piece are all from the Great Sankey and Westbrook area of Warrington apart from Luke Holland who is from St Helens.
Harlee
Genre: Pop
For fans of: Adele, Amy Winehouse, Rhianna
On stage: 4.30pm
Popstar-in-the-making Harlee Sudworth was discovered by Primary Wave Entertainment in New York after she uploaded Ella Henderson’s I’m Yours to YouTube.
The Great Sankey High School student is just 15 but is already being regarded as a star of tomorrow. Catch her at this hometown show before she makes her big break.
Kindest of Thieves
Genre: Rag time/swing/skiffle
For fans of: Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Morrissey
On stage: 4pm
Chris Fox – better known as Kindest of Thieves – is a one-man roots music artist who grew up in Warrington and now lives in Leeds.
The 24-year-old is inspired by traditional American music and has been championed by the likes of the BBC and Warrington Music Festival DJ Clint Boon.
Chris released his latest EP, Cul-De-Sac, last month to coincide with Record Store Day.
Edits
Genre: Post rock
For fans of: Radiohead, The XX, Kate Bush
On stage: 3.30pm
Edits are Liv Westhead and Chris Abbott, an atmospheric rock duo who take a DIY approach to their music by recording and producing everything themselves.
The band formed in 2013 after the pair met at Salford University.
Edits' biggest song so far has been 'Fall Back To Earth'. The video for the single transports viewers to space with clips from a NASA space station.
Joe Hatton
Genre: Indie
For fans of: Bob Dylan, Captain Beefheart, The Kinks
On stage: 3pm
Joe Hatton has played at Warrington Music Festival many times before but this time he is bringing his new band, the Rascal Guitar Train.
You may have also seen him in the town's bars and restaurants where he regularly plays.
Kieran Gallimore
Genre: Acoustic
For fans of: Merz, Fionn Regan, Penguin Cafe Orchestra
On stage: 2.30pm
As the guitarist and singer in Bill Davro, the former sound engineer at WA1 and man behind Gallimore Musical Repairs in Latchford, most of Warrington's music community will know Kieran Gallimore.
The singer-songwriter has also played at every Warrington Music Festival since 2007 and has played on major stages including the NEC in Birmingham and at Kendal Calling three times.
He released music under his own name for the first time in 2014 with the track, Old Wounds.
Scruff
Genre: Indie pop
For fans of: Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Echo and The Bunnymen
On stage: 2pm
Nathan Conboy and Ryan Garner have been collaborating on various music projects since meeting at Bridgewater High.
Scruff originally began as a solo project by Nathan but Ryan soon helped out when he was working on the first single, Broken Lights.
Now the band are a four-piece who have been supported by the likes of Radio XS and BBC Introducing.
Kye Jones
Genre: Grunge
For fans of: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Tool
On stage: 1.30pm
The former Cardinal Newman RC High School pupil went on to the The British Academy of New Music in London where Ed Sheeran was in his class.
Kye was also named unsigned musician of the year by Unsigned Revolution in 2012.
Influenced by Royal Blood, Jack White and Pearl Jam, the songwriter is always aiming high.
Ellie Dibben
Genre: Country pop
For fans of: Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum
On stage: 1pm
Rising star Ellie Dibben, from Lymm, supported Pixie Lott at Warrington Festival, performed at the O2 for the Country2Country Festival and was mentored by Bee Gees legend Robin Gibb before his death.
The 17-year-old was talent spotted after her recording of Taylor Swift's Crazier was heard by American singer P. J. Proby. She has been going from strength to strength since then.
Zha
Genre: Indie folk
For fans of: Rae Morris, Lucy Rose, Lianne La Havas
On stage: 12.30pm
Zha has been writing songs since she was a toddler and starting learning the guitar when she was 10.
The 18-year-old also regularly performs at Today's Community Church in Wigan which has helped her grow in confidence for her stage shows.
She added: "I hope to one day release music and delve into the industry but for now I am just working hard, studying and seeing where my music takes me."
Selfish Lovers
Genre: Pop rock F

Selfish Lovers are a female-fronted band who have supported the likes of Dodgy, Reef, Toploader, Bluetones, Republica and The Wonder Stuff.
They have also worked with acclaimed record producer Pete Coleman, who has made albums for the likes of AC/DC and Echo and the Bunnymen.
