IT'S coming up to that heady time of year when denim shorts, cowboy hats and cans of cider become quintessential summer attire.

Festival season means field-based parties up and down the country and Manchester has its very own among the best to boast about.

Parklife has grown from cult rave in the student district of Fallowfield to a true seasonal heavyweight now firmly at home in it's much larger base of Heaton Park.

The 2015 edition looks set to continue that rise in popularity with a more eclectic line-up than in previous years.

Joining the usual array of dance talent are a plethora of indie acts.

Disclosure and Rudimental play alongside the likes of Ben Howard, George Ezra and James Blake.

You can also catch Jungle, Fatboy Slim, James Bay, Everything Everything and Annie Mac across the two day festival on June 6 and 7.

There's folk-pop, dubstep, tech house and rap - everything you need for a sunny afternoon. But being Manchester, you might just want to remember your wellies.
