TWO pairs of tickets for a sold out night with the Chemical Brothers are up for grabs.

Weekend has teamed up with Russian Standard Vodka, the sponsors of Manchester’s Warehouse Project, to promote its competition to give away four tickets for the electronic music duo’s DJ set on Friday, December 5.

Other acts on the line-up include Andrew Weatherall, Breach, Bicep, Krysko and Will Tramp.

Competition winners will also have VIP access to Russian Standard Vodka’s ‘House Of Davai’ area.

Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, right, formed the Chemical Brothers in Manchester in 1989.

The duo were one of the pioneers of the ‘big beat’ scene along with The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim.

They met while studying medieval literature at Manchester University and an early single was called 14th Century Sky as a nod to their degree.

By day they specialised in Chaucer, by night they were DJing in legendary clubs like the Hacienda.

Since then the pair have had five number one albums and 13 top 20 singles, including two number ones, Setting Sun and Block Rockin Beats.

The Chemical Brothers, who have scooped four Grammy Awards and a Brit Award, have released eight studio albums, including the soundtrack to Joe Wright’s film, Hanna.
