FORGET the new wave of trendy electro bands.

Royal Blood are out to prove that rock is here to stay.

The band may be just made up of two members – vocalist and bassist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher – but the duo have made enough noise between them to revive the hard rock scene pretty much singlehandedly.

Their number one self-titled debut album is as dynamic as it is an attack on the senses.

Looking at the CD as a sum of its parts, you might describe Royal Blood’s sound as garage rock.

But it has the guitar sound of early Muse, the intensity and aggression of Nirvana and the swagger of Led Zeppelin.

The big riffs and perfectly timed pauses will have you bouncing around your house and playing ‘air guitar’ when you think no one is looking.

A must for heavy music fans, this is a rock behemoth.
