Lee Harman has enjoyed watching Warrington Music Festival grow over the last few years.

The 26-year-old from Padgate is not involved with the event but is a big supporter and fan.

He champions the town’s music scene on his Warrington Music [WAM] website and below gives us his top five tips for who to look out for over the July 18 to 20 weekend.

Portalights

Warrington Guardian:

Starting off as a solo project of frontman Will Poston, this relatively new feel good indie/pop rock band have been making a name for themselves across the north west.

This was no doubt helped by a support slot for Gabrielle Aplin at The Ritz in Manchester.

They have a really unique sound and with some sound leadership behind them, you can expect to hear much more from Portalights in the future.

China White

Warrington Guardian:

A previous headliner of the festival, the band has had a quiet year recording their album, but always guarantee a show stopping performance.

An electronic funk collective who count Ian Brown's percussionist as one of their members, they bring a sound quite like nobody else in the town.

Not only do they have the swagger and the talk to make it to the top, they have the songs too

The Roughneck Riot

Warrington Guardian:

Nothing makes me happier than to see this punk folk six-piece as Saturday headliners.

Not only are they one of the most talented bands in the town, but the members have almost single-handedly kept the punk/alternative scene alive in Warrington.

Known across UK and Europe, Saturday’s main slot is a well deserved award for a band who rarely have a weekend off without a show.
