FOUR-piece Titors Insignia are a rock ‘n’ roll band who have gained success performing around the country for the last five years.

Based in St Helens, the band released their debut album ‘Fair City Riots’ in 2012 on iTunes and Amazon, and have gained airplay on local radio stations including Salford City Radio.

The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Stu Oggy, lead guitarist Rob James, bassist Pete Murphy and drummer Ste Swift, who lives in Great Sankey.

Members Stu and Ste have been performing together for 12 years and met Rob and Pete through the local music scene.

An electrician by day, 34-year-old Stu sees music as his first career and has been playing guitar for 19 years.

The youngest of the band, 24-year-old Rob, teaches music and has been playing the guitar since he was age 16.

Ste works for a telecommunications company and began playing the drums age 15. Bassist Pete is unemployed and has been playing the guitar for eight years.

The band’s sound is influenced by indie and rock bands such as The Jam, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin and Blink 182.

Stu said: "The highlight of being in the band has to be when we recorded our first album and recording our first music video for ‘Beg, Plead and pray.’

“In the future we’re going to carry on what we’re doing, record our second album and make more music videos.

"We have been doing this for so long and we push ourselves as hard as we can.

"People should vote for us because we’re class; it's good music and music from the area.

"Our songs tell stories when you listen carefully to the lyrics. When you listen to the radio these days it’s all pop stuff; reality singing competitions have killed it."

The band is currently working on a music video for charity single ‘Freedom Fighter’.

The video will star Corporal Andy Reid, who lost both legs and an arm in a Taliban bomb.
