THE world famous Cirque Du Soleil explored the unimaginable when it stopped at the Liverpool Echo Arena on its European tour.

The Canadian circus’ ninth show Quidam, meaning ‘anonymous passer-by’ saw acrobats elegantly hanging from hoops in the air and children juggling diablos while perfectly positioned in stunts.

Despite watching intently it was easy to come out wondering what the gymnastic extravaganza was all about.

Cirque Du Soleil is renowned for its confusing plots and this one certainly followed tradition. But writers told the story of a child who has seen everything there is to see, resulting in a life of no meaning until she finds herself in the mysterious universe of Quidam.

The storyline washed over viewers as the eye opening routines left people stunned and terrified that the performers would fall from the great heights!

With all of the vibrant costumed characters showcasing displays it is easy to forget that you are watching a circus until the overweight jester appears to humiliate members of the audience who are unfortunate to be targeted.

The 25-year-old touring extravaganza met up to its reputation of being an entertainment empire despite having a vague tale.
