A NEW scare attraction by one of the developers of Farmageddon is coming to Cheshire in time for Halloween.

Tatton Wood, near Knutsford, will be transformed into ‘Scarewood’.

Suitable for adults and older children, aged 15 and above, it is described as a dark world with a fright in every corner where demonic forest folk, roaming zombies, monsters, creatures of the night and creepy clowns will be running amok. Scarewood is not for the faint-hearted with strobe lighting, smoke effects and loud bangs.

Richard Cottier, of Immersive North, who spent eight years developing Farmageddon, said: “Immersive theatre, where audience members are thrown into the midst of the action, is now really popular. This is something you won’t want to miss.”

There will also be family friendly activities throughout October’s half term week where youngsters can brave the Terror Trail, hear spooky stories at the pumpkin carving patch, sing along to a ghoulish panto and enjoy face painting and slime before a lantern walk through the woods.

There are opportunities to get involved as well because Scarewood is recruiting an ‘army of darkness’.

Anyone who is a fan of horror fans can apply. No experience is necessary and training will be given.

Henry Brooks, managing director of the Tatton Group, said: “The Tatton Estate offers a whole range of event, film and television locations and Tatton Wood is a perfect setting for Scarewood.”
