LIAM Gallagher has announced a huge homecoming show in Manchester after he completes his 12-date UK tour.

The Oasis star will be performing at Old Trafford cricket ground on Saturday, August 18, in front of around 50,000 revellers.

Liam will be heading up a full day of music at the venue with the support bill to be revealed in the coming months. Phenomenal demand for the singer’s first solo arena tour saw all 100,000 tickets sell-out on the morning that they went on sale

It follows the release of his debut solo album, As You Were, which shot to the top of the charts. Liam set a new vinyl sales record with the release, shifting 16,000 copies – the strongest first-week sales in more than 20 years.

Old Trafford was recently headlined by The Courteeners and was the location for Ariana Grande’s ‘One Love Manchester’ concert, where Liam sang a duet with Coldplay.

Meanwhile, Liam’s brother Noel has been announced as one of the headliners of the new Neighbourhood Weekender at Victoria Park in Warrington. The tickets sold out in just over four hours after going on general sale.
