A MUSICIAN and former Birchwood High pupil is hoping to spark more interest in Warrington’s unsigned bands with a new live showcase.

Gráinne Curzon, who is in the indie rock band Fort Myers, is organising Eyes Peeled Live which takes place at The Auction Rooms in Legh Street on Friday, October 6, from 9pm.

The line-up includes The Navettes who were in Yamaha’s new Revstar guitar campaign, Birchwood rock and roll band Sweet Release, Warrington shoegaze group Danxia, pictured, and Manchester indie trio The Capitals.

Gráinne, of Sandicroft Close, said: “I’m currently studying music at MMU and I’m really passionate about the music business.

“After being in a band for years and playing at many gigs where the event is poorly thought through, I decided to give it a go.

“My hope is to create more of an atmosphere at the events, encouraging audiences to stay throughout the gig rather than just for one band and sparking more of an interest in unsigned bands.”
