ALEXANDER O’Neal is to grace the stage of the Parr Hall on Tuesday, November 7.

The 63-year-old made his name during the 1980s soul/RnB era, when he released a string of memorable hits including Fake, Criticize, If You Were Here Tonight, Saturday Love, Never Knew Love like This, Sunshine and Secret Lovers.

His album Hearsay sold nearly a million copies in the UK alone and to this day Alexander still holds the record as the only performer to sell out six consecutive nights at London’s Wembley Arena.

Alexander, who grew up in Mississippi and now lives in the UK, cut his teeth in the music scene when he was very briefly the lead singer of The Time before being replaced by Morris Day.

The Time was formed as part of a deal that Prince had with Warner Bros that allowed him to recruit and produce other artists for the label. More recently Alexander appeared in the 2015 series of Celebrity Big Brother.
