BILL Bailey has announced he will be bringing his unique blend of comedy, music, satire and flights of fancy to Parr Hall.

The 'mecca for those with no agenda' will taking to the stage in Warrington next year on Friday, March 9.

The new tour, Larks in Transit, is a compendium of travellers’ tales and general shenanigans from Bill’s 20 years as a comedian.

He will tackle politics, philosophy and the pursuit of happiness through surreal observations and musical oddities.

Plus, the 53-year-old has promised to fashion a symphony from a ringtone, tell the real story of Old McDonald and re-imagine the Stars and Stripes.

Described by The Daily Telegraph as 'the brainiest comic of his generation', this more personal tour will give a glimpse into Bill's real life and the colourful adventures he has experienced along the way.

The West Country comedy veteran is probably best known for starring in Black Books alongside Dylan Moran and Tamsin Greig.

He has also appeared regularly in the likes of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and Have I Got News for You and was in Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's cult sitcom Spaced.

More recently Bill has turned his hand to documentaries.

Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra saw him forces with Anne Dudley and the BBC Concert Orchestra to explain in his unique way the nuances of how the orchestra works and the lesser-known influences of various classical composers.

Then in 2013 he filmed Bill Bailey's Jungle Hero where he retraced the steps of naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace to understand how he came up with the theory of evolution independently of Darwin.

His film credits include Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run, Chalet Girl, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, Burke and Hare and he was even the voice of the sperm whale in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
