BENIDORM’S Crissy Rock is returning to Parr Hall this summer following the success of her last touring show, Dirty Dusting.

The star of I’m a Celebrity is coming back to Warrington for Seriously Dead, a musical comedy play about a deceased bank robber, a café owner and a lovesick ghost. Crissy co-wrote the new production with Leah Bell. The pair starred in Dirty Dusting together.

Seriously Dead is about an extraordinary chain of events in the quiet town of Olwinskirk which brings the lives of Betty, Albert, Billy and undertaker Tristan de Winter to an uncomfortable crossroads.

Crissy got her big break working with celebrated British filmmaker Ken Loach, who directed Kes and most recently I, Daniel Blake.

She had not even appeared in a school play when she got the part in the 1994 film, Ladybird, Ladybird. But the moving story of a mother’s fight with Social Services over the care of her children earned the Liverpudlian an award at the Berlin International Film Festival.

And she impressed the director to such an extent that at the time he said: “I cannot think of anyone I have worked with who shines more brightly than Crissy Rock.”

Now the actor is best known for ITV’s Benidorm, a sitcom about holiday-makers at an all-inclusive hotel.

And Crissy even had the chance to work with Warrington acting legend Pete Postlethwaite before his death in BBC’s Butterfly Collectors.

Seriously Dead is at the Parr Hall on Thursday, June 22. Tickets are on sale now. Visit pyramidparrhall.com or call 442345.
