THE line-up has been revealed for the first day of Warrington Music Festival.

Saturday headliners will be Burtonwood’s Slydigs – with 20 bands and artists joining them for the free outdoor showcase at the Old Fish Market on May 27.

They will be joined by The Tamalas, Stillia, Delphina Kings, Psyblings, Sweet Release, Black Pulp, Weekend Wars, Filthy Tricks, Dirty Berns, Beware The Wolves, Danxia and Dientes.

Excess, Realm42, Priestley, No One Sun, Fez, Myth of Unity, Kye Jones and Jack Woodward complete the line-up. The aim of the festival is to showcase and champion Warrington and north west bands before 90s icons Space and Cast close the weekend on the Sunday.

Ian Cox, centre director of Golden Square, said: “With such a strong line-up for Saturday we are sure it will be a really popular day. There are no tickets needed for Saturday. Music lovers can come down to the centre and enjoy the festival for free. There’s always a great atmosphere for the start of the bank holiday weekend.

Festival organiser Steve Oates added: “Choosing the line-up for this year’s event has been difficult, but also a real joy. There are so many exciting bands and musicians out there creating great music and sharing it with the world.

“Bringing them all together in one place and giving them all the opportunity to be a part of the Warrington Music Festival is fantastic. It’s great to see Slydigs returning to the festival. The band actually secured their management deal following their performing here in 2013, and since then they have gone on to do great things including recently supporting The Who across America.

“With the Golden Square’s support we can offer everyone the chance to see live music for free and offer the amazing talent a great platform to perform.”
