IN the best spirit of singer-songwriters, creating music has provided comfort to Leo Stannard when he has been trying to make sense of his life.

The 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist lays his soul bare with his music as demonstrated on his latest EP, Free Rein. The first single on the release called 19 was typical, drawing on personal experiences.

Leo said: β€œIt’s about needing that one familiar face for comfort and acting impulsively to see that person.”

The singer, who is label mates with the likes of Rudimental and Jess Glynne on Black Butter Records, performs at Sound Control in Manchester on March 15.
