FAMILY festival Geronimo is moving to Arley Hall next year to introduce camping and glamping during the popular event.

Geronimo started in 2015 and was previously held at Tatton Park.

For its launch at Arley Hall from May 27 to 29 there will more than 130 activities for children aged between two and 12.

The stately home, near Lymm, will be split into 10 zones – 3ft And Under, Adrenaline, Circus, Pasture, Funky Junk, Library, Curio'City', Arena, Geronostage and Theatre.

Just a few activities on offer include graffiti workshops, high ropes courses, den building, baby ballet, trapeze school, archery and fencing, as well as BMX, jousting and motorbike displays in the arena.

Lord Ashbrook, whose family built and then lived in Arley Hall for generations, said: "Arley Hall is delighted to welcome Geronimo families to our magnificent estate. Our grandchildren are extremely excited to host a giant phizz-whizzing sleepover under the stars."

Tickets are now on sale.

Dad-of-seven Simon Goldman, festival director, said: "It's a beautiful estate and as we are offering camping and glamping facilities next year, we are sure that even more families will have a fantastic time with us over the bank holiday weekend.

"We loved being at Tatton Park and working with the team from Cheshire East Council but we needed more space to allow us to provide the camping that our festival goers from previous years have asked for."

Simon set up Geronimo three years ago when he became frustrated at not being able to find a day out that suited all his kids.

He said: "There are some amazing festivals in the UK but they tend to be music led, with some activities for the children as an addition. We come at this from the polar opposite – we are all about providing world class fun for the children, with great music as a backdrop to all the activities we have on offer."
