The Big Moon

PRETENTIOUS cocktails are the reason Juliette Jackson decided to make music.
“I didn’t just want to start a band, I genuinely needed to,” she said.
“I was working in a fancy cocktail bar in north London where they made stupid drinks flavoured with soil and tomato skins. I had to get out of there.
"So I started writing songs about love and hangovers, robots and the fourth dimension and ran around London asking everyone I knew if they knew anyone who wanted to be in a band with me.”
Garage rock four-piece The Big Moon was the result.
Since forming in September 2014, the all-female band have played with The Vaccines and The Maccabees and they were recently in the studio with Catherine Marks, who has worked with Foals, Wolf Alice and PJ Harvey.
- The Big Moon play at Liverpool Sound City on Sunday
