FURTHER acts have been revealed for a new festival at Jodrell Bank.

A performance by Air, a new artwork by Brian Eno and a unique stage collaboration involving 40,000 bees have joined the line-up in the latest 'transmission' from Bluedot which will take place from July 22 to 24.

The festival is mixes music and culture with science and is supported by the UK Space Agency.

Space rock pioneers Air will be supporting Jean-Michel Jarre on the Saturday night in the shadow of the Lovell Telescope.

And Newcastle's Lanterns On The Lake have teamed up with Royal Northern Sinfonia for an orchestral performance like no other.

Meanwhile the festival's orbit stage will see a collaboration between an artist, a scientist, half of the band Spiritualized and 40,000 bees.

The show, called Be play One, is inspired by the plight of the honeybee.

Bluedot will also be unveiling a new artwork by Brian Eno, designed specifically for Jodrell Bank.

Music producers Jim Spencer and David Tolan have worked with astrophysicist Tim O’Brien to remix sounds from space.

And there is even space themed physical theatre with the show Urban Astronaut providing a glimpse of a future that might be.

Award-winning sci-fi writer Alan Garner will also be attending as well as Moondust author Andrew Smith, who will be talking about his experience of tracking down every astronaut who walked on moon between 1969 and 1972 and how if affected them.
