BARONESS'S new album reflects a dark moment in the band's history – but one they have come back stronger from.
The heavy metal four-piece, from Georgia, were en-route to a show in Southampton in August 2012 when their bus crashed.
It put their career on hold for two years.
"The band suffered a gigantic bruise," said frontman John Baizley.
"It was an injury that prevented us from operating in a normal way for quite some time. Hopefully, this record is the springboard that helps us get away from all that."
Their fourth album, Purple, covers the range of emotions they felt after the crash and has been highly acclaimed with the single, Shook Me, selected as track of the week on the Radio 1 Rock Show.
Baroness play at The Ritz in Manchester on February 25.
