MUSIC legend Tom Jones will join international chart-toppers Roxette and the Hallé Orchestra for a spectacular three days of live music at Tatton Park.

The country estate will provide the backdrop for the ‘Concerts by the Lake’ festival, which will take place from July 28 to 30.

The new three-day concert series, presented by music promoters Cuffe and Taylor and Neil O’Brien Entertainment, has been born out of the successful Tatton Park picnic concerts, which have drawn thousands of music fans to Tatton each summer.

Tom Jones will take to the stage on Thursday, July 28, followed by Roxette on Friday, July 29, before the Hallé entertain the audience as part of a picnic proms event on Saturday, July 30.

With a career that has spanned more than half a century, Tom Jones has won many accolades including a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Knighted in 2006, the global star has amassed 36 top 40 UK hits.

Roxette – Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle – burst out of Sweden in the late 1980s and have produced 33 chart singles – including The Look, It Must Have Been Love and Joyride – four US number ones and more than 75 million record sales.

This will be Roxette’s first open air performance in the north west.

Now in its 158th season, the Hallé ranks among the UK’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in this country and around the world.

Founded in Manchester, the Hallé boasts award-winning recordings, radio broadcasts and educational outreach programmes; and a visionary commitment to building audiences and developing orchestral repertoire.

Brendan Flanagan, general manager of Tatton Park, said: “For more than 20 years, our stunning lakeside setting has been the ideal location for the perfect outdoor concert.

"For many it has provided the highlight of their summer calendar.

“We’re certain that with such an impressive line-up this year, the event will prove to be an even greater success, firmly establishing Tatton Park as the `go to’ musical event of the outdoor concert season.”

Peter Taylor, Cuffe and Taylor director, said: “This is going to be something really special.

“We are delighted to expand the wonderfully successful Tatton Park Picnic Concert into Concerts by the Lake, which will bring such world-renowned stars as Sir Tom, Roxette and the Hallé together for what we feel sure will be three days of unforgettable live music.”
