A GOLDEN Square shop is hosting a midnight launch for the hugely-anticipated new Call of Duty game.

Black Ops III takes place in a dystopian future in 2065 where super-soldiers and robotics play the main part in combat.

Fans of the first-person shooter series will be in for a long night at Warrington's Game store on Thursday with the game available at the stroke of midnight.

Manager Adam Ellison said: "We’ll all be dressed up in camouflage gear and it should be a good atmosphere. There will be six or seven people on duty to make sure everyone gets served and we do it like a raffle.

"The store will be open from 11pm and people can come in and pay for the game and be given a raffle ticket.

"Once it turns midnight, they can just take their ticket to the till and collect a copy so that way it is quicker for everyone."

Sales assistant Chris Halliday, who has played all 12 of the main Call of Duty games, added: "The main reason Call Of Duty is so popular is because of the online side of it. You can play against people all over the world and it gets really competitive.

"That’s what people really like about it."
