ENJOY a day of live music and help fight global poverty all at the same time at 'Oxjam' in Stockton Heath.

Oxfam's touring music festival began in 2006 with the aim of raising money for the charity through music.

And Warrington's Vibe Youth Radio has teamed up with Oxjam to bring the event to DWL in London Road on Friday, October 30.

Headlining the event is Twelve24, a pop, dance and rap trio who have toured all over the world. There will even be a set by Ed Sheeran's cousin Jethro Sheeran, who performs hip hop under the name AloneStar.

Other acts include dance and RnB duo Doremi Fly, whose single, No Giving Up, was used for an anti-bullying campaign, Misfires, who were recently featured on BBC Introducing and have been compared to Pigeon Detectives, and 18-year-old Megan Roberts from north Wales.

Megan came second in the Pride's Got Talent competition at Blackpool Pride Festival.

More artists and DJs are yet to be announced for the one-off gig which is hoped will attract 300 people.

Daniel Miller set up Vibe Youth Radio for online listeners in the 13 to 25 age group in Warrington after winning a grant from O2's 'Think Big With O2' project.

His experience comes from setting up Warrington Collegiate's W.A.C Radio last year after being trained by the Student Radio Association at Media City.

Daniel, from Orford, said: "Since the project started in January we have grown our online presence and we are ready to bring Vibe to the public to showcase what all the fuss is about.

"The artists we have performing for Oxjam are great. Some people may of heard of some of the acts, some may not.

"But Vibe is all about grassroots music and helping artists to achieve their lifetime goal and perform in front of a great live audience.

"Something I feel proud about is the diversity of the artists we have performing on the night."

- Oxjam Warrington comes to DWL in Stockton Heath on October 30. It is for over 18s only but a separate youth event is being planned for another date.

Tickets go on sale on Monday and are £6 with all the money from ticket sales going directly to Oxfam. Visit vibeyouthradio.co.uk
