LYMM Festival hosted around 50 events over 11 days in June and welcomed the likes of Beverley Craven, Virginia Ironside, Terry Waite and Jo Caulfield.

But the popular annual event is not quite over just yet.

Organisers are hosting The Festival Encore this weekend with the Bridgewater Players and world renowned pianist Stephen Hough.

Bridgewater Players are taking on Alan Bennett's Talking Heads at Thelwall Parish Hall on Friday.

Stephen Hough, who grew up in All Saints Drive in Thelwall, will then bring the final curtain down on Lymm Festival on Friday at 8pm.

One of the most distinctive pianists of his generation who has never forgotten his Warrington roots, you can hear Stephen at St Peter's Church in Oughtrington on Sunday at 2.30pm.

Lauren Sanders, marketing and publicity director for Lymm Festival, said: "We would like to thank the public for responding in such numbers to 11 days of great music, comedy, drama and arts.

"Our cheerful army of volunteers made sure everyone was safe and happy at the events.

"There were many sell outs this year. Terry Waite enthralled a packed Statham Lodge Hotel as he told the story of his four years in solitary confinement in Beirut.

"And the Lymm Big Sing Choir complemented well the self reflective Beverley Craven at the same venue."

The Festival box office is now closed. For tickets visit lymmfestival.org.uk
