ONE of the biggest feasts of the summer is returning to Tatton Park for its 10th anniversary.

Visitors from all over the north west are expected to eat and drink their way through the popular Foodies Festival from July 17 to 19.

The annual event attracted record numbers last summer with around 25,000 visitors and so organisers are extending the festival with new food and drink theatres and longer opening hours.

A new tasting theatre will host a diverse range of masterclasses including oyster shucking, bee keeping, cheese selecting, foraging, raw and vegan foods and herb cocktail making.

Top chefs cooking up a storm will be Master Chef winner Tim Anderson and finalists Jackie Kearney and Luke Owen, David Mooney of Cheshire's New Moon Pubs and cheese specialist and Coronation Street actor Sean Wilson.

Also attending will be award-winning vegan blogger Katy B from Little Miss Meat Free, Food Glorious Food winner Rahila Hussain and Sweet Mandarin twins Helen and Lisa Tse.

To toast Foodies’ big year, festival goers can raise a glass at the wine and champagne theatre with experts Neil Phillips and Charles Metcalfe.

If craft beer is more your thing Melissa Cole will be matching food to ale.

Chocoholics should head to the chocolate theatre for masterclasses with Coeur de Xocolat, while the cake and bake theatre offers masterclasses in 3D cake modelling.

If you prefer to explore at your own pace the street food avenue will tantalise taste buds with hot and cold dishes from around the world including Japanese, Thai, Brazilian, Argentinian, Mexican, French and African cuisines.

Among the award-winning vendors are Thai XP, Millhouse Roast, Boy Meats Grill and Popcorn Kitchen and you can tuck into your food in a feasting tent.

Spanish Hamper, Get Fruity, Cheshire Farm Ice Cream and Eat Stoats, join the artisan producers market where visitors stock-up from more than 200 producers.

Meanwhile, little foodies can explore their taste buds and learn basic skills with picnic in the park themed children's cookery theatre.

And after a day of feasting and fun, foodies can relax with a spot on the grass and soak in the atmosphere with live music from the entertainment stage and a cold drink from the Giant Pimms Teapot and Galleon Mojito bars.

Friday adult tickets are £10. Saturday or Sunday tickets are £13 or buy a three-day pass for £20.
