STARSAILOR have announced their first full UK headline tour since reforming last year.

The Warrington band will be playing at Liverpool Academy on October 2 and Manchester's Albert Hall on October 3 after playing a homecoming gig at Parr Hall in December 2014.

Starsailor have sold more than three million records worldwide and have had 10 top 40 records including Fever, Good Souls and Silence is Easy.

The band was formed when best mates Ben Byrne and James 'Stel' Stelfox met James Walsh and Barry Westhead at Wigan and Leigh Music School.

They bonded over Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen and Pearl Jam.

And an NME review of one of their gigs led to a bidding war by record labels in 2000.

Starsailor have since scooped numerous accolades including ‘Britain’s Best New Band’ and ‘Brightest New Hope’ award and have shared a stage with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Killers and U2.

Their albums ‘Love is Here’ and ‘Silence is Easy’ reached platinum and gold standard respectively and altogether they have sold more than three million records worldwide.

The band are currently on a tour across North America and Canada with Embrace.

Tickets go on sale on Friday at 9am. Visit gigsandtours.com or call 0844 811 0051.
