A STREET dancing group who train in Warrington have been crowned England's best at the weekend.

StagePro Academy's seven-strong team Heartbeat beat the top nine teams in the country in the adult group category of Street Dance International and International Dance Organisation's All England Finals in Luton.

They will now go on to compete in the upcoming European and World Street Dancing Championships.

Choreographed and coached by former world champion Zec Luhana, Heartbeat have dancing together since 2011 and train at StagePro in Museum four times a week.

Shane Edwards, owner of StagePro, said: "This is the culmination of years of hard work and professional tuition.

"We are proud to have Heartbeat train at StagePro and the team are great role models to our younger dancers."

The dancers were recently invited to open the show for Parris Goebel’s Royal Family Skulls and Crowns Show in Manchester after being selected from 82 groups.

Heartbeat are now focused on their goal of becoming world champions in Italy in October. Before then, they will travel to Poland to represent England at July’s European Championships.

Three team members were also successful in the solos and duo competitions qualifying for both the European and World Championships.

Emily Edwards, aged 15, from Warrington was placed fourth in solos while Tumelo Moniwa, from Warrington, and Emily Bain, from Northwich, both came ninth in the male and female categories.

Tumelo and Emily also finished third in the duos, clinching a spot to fly the flag for England at the upcoming championships in the process.
