LYMM Rugby club will be hosting a variety of events in June to raise money for its Grass Roots Clubhouse Appeal.

A masquerade ball will be held on Saturday, June 13, with posh frocks, black tie and masks.

The ball is held on the pitch with entertainment throughout the evening with a live band and a three-course meal.

On Thursday, June 18, there will be a black tie sportsmen evening with Phil Bennett, Welsh international rugby union and British Lions legend.

Then there's a chance to dress up and enjoy a glass of Prosecco or two with a two-course lunch at the popular women's charity lunch.

This will be held at the club's marquee on Friday, June 19.

Back by popular demand is the vaudeville variety show featuring burlesque dancing and saucy sketches on the same day.

It is presented by the Lymm Panto cast and carries on in the same vein. Lymm Panto has run at the club for 30 years and is always a sell-out.

The acts include female vocalist Hayley Moston and the 'world’s worst ventriloquist' Simon Plumb.

Simon, Lymm Rugby Club president and Lymm Panto producer, said: "This vaudeville show is a showcase event for those who struggle to get Lymm Panto tickets at Christmas. There is a 500-seat auditorium to accommodate to all.

"We have a range of events planned to give a great fortnight of fun."

Lymm Rugby Club membership has grown to more than 1,500 members and all funds will go towards plans to build more modern facilities at the Crouchley Lane site.

Simon added: "It’s all to raise funds for the Grass Roots Clubhouse Appeal, so we can put Lymm Rugby Club at the heart of the community."
