ONE of Warrington's most recently established choirs will be joining one of the oldest choirs in the UK this Saturday.

St Monica's Catholic Primary School Choir will be sharing a stage with Warrington Male Voice Choir, which dates back to 1898, at Parr Hall.

It follows an exciting year for the Appleton youngsters, aged between four and 11, whose repertoire ranges from Metallica to Mozart.

They have already been 'busking' in Golden Square and carolling on the Coronation Street cobbles.

But Saturday's concert will see them achieve two of their ambitions – to sing at the Parr Hall and share a stage with Warrington Male Voice Choir.

Bob Williams, chairman of Warrington Male Voice Choir, said: "It's great to have such an exciting, refreshing, young choir with us on Saturday and to be helping them achieve two of their ambitions.

"It would be great if, in years to come, some of the boys singing with St Monica’s on Saturday ended up wearing the blue blazer of Warrington Male Voice Choir.

"On a night when one of the borough’s older music groups welcomes one of the youngest, it promises to be a great concert."
