DOWNLOAD Festival tickets are up for grabs as part of the relaunch of Warrington's only rock night.

Raffle tickets will be given out to everyone who comes to the Asylum club night on Friday, May 15, at its new home at Rain in Academy Way.

A winner will be drawn on the night for a pair of tickets to the Donington Park festival which is being headlined by Slipknot, Muse and Kiss.

Asylum will also be joining forces with the organisers of Manchester rock night Deadbolt and the relaunch will see DJs from both clubs join forces to play alternative, metal and punk music until the early hours.

The Warrington rock night was first held at The Venue in Barbauld Street in March 2013 at The Venue before a change in music policy meant it needed a new home.

Asylum's highlight was in March 2014 when Reading and Leeds main stage act, Hacktivist, played to a sold-out crowd.

Alternative rockers Blitz Kids also played there in September 2013.

Organiser Lee Harman, a former Woolston High School pupil, said: "Asylum is the only place for alternative music in the town and one of few promoters of live music in Warrington.

"Future plans include special DJ sets from well known bands and live music returning in the summer."

Asylum relaunches at Rain nightclub on May 15 and 29. Launch night is from 10pm to 3am.
