NOEL Gallagher, The Charlatans, Paolo Nutini and Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott are all coming to Manchester in July for the Summer in the City festival.

The event, which runs throughout the month, is returning to Castlefield Bowl with more bands and artists yet to be announced.

Paolo Nutini and nine-piece band kick things off on July 2, headlining the first date of the festival after an incredible 12 months since his third album ‘Caustic Love’ went straight in at number one.

Following the release of their 12th album, ‘Modern Nature’, The Charlatans will perform on July 4 and will be joined by upcoming Manchester band Blossoms.

Their current sold out live shows are part of The Charlatans’ first full UK tour since 2010.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will be coming home to roost with a headline show at Castlefield Bowl on July 11.

At the hometown outdoor show Noel will be joined on the bill by fellow Mancunians Johnny Marr and Black Rivers (Jez and Andy Williams formerly of The Doves).

It follows Noel's sold out arena tour and release of his number one album ‘Chasing Yesterday’ which is so far the fastest selling album of 2015.

But The former Oasis songwriter shows no signs of slowing down with upcoming gigs at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust, headline shows throughout Asia and the USA and festival appearances at Latitude, T In The Park and Clapham Calling.

Former Beautiful South duo Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott will headline Summer In the City on July 3.

Their album 'What Have We Become' was one of the success stories of last year hitting number three in the charts.

It is the first record Paul and Jacqui have made together since the multi-million selling days of The Beautiful South.

They will be joined in Manchester by I Am Kloot and The Leisure Society.
