SIT back and enjoy a picnic by the lake as fireworks light the sky to a classical soundtrack.

The Hallé, one of Europe's most acclaimed orchestras, are to return to Tatton Park on August 2.

Stephen Bell will be conducting the concert.

He said: "I am delighted to be conducting the Hallé's picnic concert at Tatton Park this summer.

"With stunning grounds, fabulous fireworks and the multi award-winning Hallé, it is sure to be a memorable occasion, as it always has been in previous years."

The Hallé have a long history with Tatton Park and around 10,000 people are expected to enjoy the event.

Brendan Flanagan, general manager of Tatton Park, said: “For more than 20 years our picnic concerts have for many been the highlight of the summer outdoor calendar.

"We’re therefore delighted to be welcoming back the fabulous Hallé for what promises to be another evening of great music and impressive fireworks at our lake side setting.

“The concert is just one of many great events on offer this year at Tatton, which last year won the award from Visit England for best Large Visitor attraction in England."

Peter Taylor, from event organisers Cuffe and Taylor, added: “It’s always a pleasure to witness so many people enjoying the amazing sound of the Hallé while tucking into their picnics.

"Many people go to such an effort and we look forward to seeing bunting and candelabras galore.”
