RELIVE the glory days of big hair and synth pop with the return of the 80s festival, Rewind North.

The two day event is returning to Capesthorne Hall for the second year after being well received by music fans last summer.

Rewind North will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9, and headliners include Human League and OMD

Other acts playing, who were 'big in the 80s', include The Boomtown Rats, Jimmy Somerville, Heather Small, Wang Chung, Bananarama, ABC, The Sugarhill Gang, Belinda Carlisle, Kim Wilde and Soul II Soul among many others.

The organisers are also bending the rules to give Chesney Hawkes a festival slot.

Chesney be making his Rewind North debut despite being a pop star of the 90s. The one hit wonder's single The One and Only was released in 1991.

In addition to the musical throwback, Rewind North features plenty of side attractions including the silent disco, karaoke bar, fun fair, theme bars plus camping and glamping options.

A spokesman for Rewind North said: "The second Rewind North 80s music festival offers true connoisseurs of 80s music the best two-day line-up of iconic recording artists and performers."

Originally launched at Henley-on-Thames in 2009, Rewind has reunited some of the biggest 80s icons with their fans.

Boy George, Village People, The B52s, Gloria Gaynor, Kool and The Gang and Holly Johnson have all played for the festival over the last five years.

Rewind Scotland was launched in 2011 and there are now even Rewind festivals in South Africa, Dubai and Bangkok.
