FOLLOWING the success of The Color Run in Manchester last year, where more than 10,000 runners covered the Etihad campus in colour, the colour-crazy 5k is returning to the city with a brand new twist for 2015.

Now in its third year, the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet’ has spread its love and colour to more than 50 countries with over 300 events now hosted worldwide

The Color Run sees participants, who walk, jog, dance and shimmy along the course, covered in bursts of coloured powder at each kilometre of the 5k route.

After crossing the finish lines runners join a 'Colour Festival' area and 'Colour Zone', where they are covered by glitter explosions and entertained by DJs.

James Robinson, MD of event organisers Challenger World said: “After such a fantastic summer of events last year we can’t wait for the next series.”

“Our main focus is to help people have fun and be happy, without taking it too seriously. We were overwhelmed with the positive feedback from Color Runners who took part last year.”

“The summer of 2015 promises to be even better and we’re all looking forward to seeing our friends from last year as well as plenty of first-timers!”

This year the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) will be the official charity partner for The Color Run 2015, which will take place at The Etihad Stadium on Sunday July 5.

Participants can support the children’s charity when they sign up by donating straight to the charity or setting up a fundraising page once they have entered.

NSPCC Director of Fundraising, Paul Farthing, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be the official charity partner of The Color Run in 2015.

"By taking part in one of these fun, colourful events and raising money for the NSPCC, people will be joining our fight for every childhood, helping us protect children and prevent abuse here in the UK.”

This year’s event takes place at The Etihad Stadium on Sunday 5th July 2015. Registration is open at www.TheColorRun.co.uk

Event entries are priced at £26 for individuals and £24 p/person for group bookings (there is a £4.99 cost for postage and packaging of entry pack).
